  My Q7 always felt strong once it got moving, but the gearbox could be frustrating in traffic. It sometimes waited too long before changing gear and then shifted more sharply than expected. After driving another 3.0 TDI with quicker, cleaner shifts, I started looking into software changes instead of assuming the transmission was simply worn out.

  I noticed the same lazy behavior in my Touareg, especially when accelerating onto the highway. I checked this transmission tune because it is what I use to understand the available settings for the Aisin and ZF8 gearboxes. The changes cover shift speed, line pressure, and shift points, while the flasher connects through a PC and can be reused because it is not locked to one VIN. I would still service the gearbox and scan for faults before installing anything.
